Commission a Piece

Art makes a wonderful gift or memorial. One of the best parts of my job is helping clients preserve special memories. It is always an honor to be part of that process.

How It Works

Step 1: Email Me

Please include your name, phone number and a description of your desired project: size, materials, medium, and budget requirements. If you have reference photos, they are always helpful!

Step 2: Discuss Specifics

I will contact you to get the clearest possible idea of what you have in mind. At this stage, we will chat about price and and finishing options, like framing, printed note cards, etc.

Step 3: Down Payment

You will receive an invoice via email for 50% of the total price. You can pay online (Paypal) or mail a check. See more about my payment policy below.

Step 4: Collaborate

Unless other arrangements are made, I email clients 3 times: a rough draft/sketch, a final draft, and the finished piece. You are welcome to join me in the creative process at any point before the final piece is sent.

Step 5: Completed!

Receive a finished piece of art and send the final 50% payment.

Images can be delivered framed, un-framed, as notecards, etc.

Pricing guide

Get an idea of my rates for single custom pieces.* Prices are based on the medium and level of complexity. For example, an 18x24" drawing of a single dog will be less costly than, say, a family of eight.

Payment

A 50% down payment is required before work can begin, and the remaining balance is due within 30 days of delivery of completed artwork. Invoices for payments are sent via email; I accept payments through Paypal or you are welcome to mail a check. Changes made by the client after approval of final draft or after the final piece is emailed will be charged by the hour at a pre-negotiated rate of $65/hour.

Legal Terms

Unless otherwise negotiated, all artwork, designs, or portions thereof maybe used by the artist for self-promotional purposes or as conceptual basis for future works. Unless otherwise agreed, rights to the artwork will remain the sole property of the artist. All artwork submitted is intended for use only as originally specified. Further use of artwork must be expressly approved by the artist; nonexclusive rights may be purchased from the artist.
